Copyright Notice for Multimedia Works
By: Mark Litwak

The copyright notice should contain 3 elements:
  1. The symbol ©, or word "copyright" or abbreviation: "copr." This should be placed on copies of the work which are visually perceptible, either with the naked eye or with the use of a machine, or, the symbol (p) on phonorecords of sound recordings.
  2. The year of first publication of the work.
  3. The name of the copyright owner.
Although a separate notice may be placed on each element of a multimedia work, one notice is sufficient. Where a sound recording is included, however the (p) notice should be placed on the phonorecord.
